Yes Thailand has taken a strong stance against the circumnavigation of Company and Property Laws regarding nominee and proxy companies .
Phuket has seen the majority of the attention at the moment but it is just starting . The DSI plan to investigate 27,000 companies that are proxy or use nominees in one form or another and the whole country is under scrutiny.
To set up a legal Thai Company the requirements are that 51 percent of the shareholders and investors are Thai .
This requires real Thai investors and real Thai shareholders.
Not some office clerk of a law firm or accounting or realestate company.
If you have been duped or misled and fell into this trap.
You need to take action .

This has been popular practice it has always been illegal but now is being policed and the strict consequences enforced.
Do not set up a company for property ownership if you have been led to do this your property could very seriously be at risk.
